The Greater Ridgewood Youth Council has a COMPASS program that welcomes students from grades K-5 at P.S. 306Q New York City Academy for Discovery. Our after school program has been at P.S. 306 for a few years now, and we will continue to do activities that are both recreational and educational with a focus on social emotional learning. The After-School Program will work very closely with the school teachers and faculty to make sure we help the students with what they learn throughout the day in their classrooms. The program runs Monday-Friday from 2:15pm-5:15 pm, during the school calendar year.
The activities that the students will be participating in are; Arts & Crafts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Dance, Literacy, and Theater. Healthy snacks are also provided for the students. We will have special themed events that are held for seasonal and other cultural celebrations. The goal of the After-School Program staff is to provide an environment that is fun and safe for the students of P.S. 306. If you have any questions regarding the program please email gwilliams@thegryc.org or give me a call at 718-456-KIDS (5437).
